Why this one
A straightforward, mid-priced countertop opener that reliably handles everyday cans and includes a knife sharpener — the category's consensus smart-money pick.
Reliable countertop workhorse
The 76607J opens standard and pop-top cans with a single lever press and shuts off automatically when the cut is complete. Its removable cutting assembly rinses clean, and the built-in knife sharpener adds a second kitchen function without extra counter space.
Outlasts cheaper rivals
At roughly $45 it sits in the middle of the electric-can-opener price band — above the flimsy sub-$15 units that strip gears in months, but well below $50+ models that add little practical benefit. The motor and gear train have a decades-long track record in the same form factor.
Widely recommended for everyday use
Review sites consistently name this model the sensible default for a basic electric opener: it handles the full range of household can sizes, stays stable on the counter, and replacement cutting units are inexpensive and easy to find.
